Mount Meru (4,566m) is Tanzania’s second-highest peak, located inside Arusha National Park. This trek offers a shorter and less crowded climb compared to Kilimanjaro, but it is equally rewarding with breathtaking views, diverse wildlife, and rich forest scenery. Along the way, you’ll hike through lush rainforest, spot giraffes, buffalo, and colobus monkeys, and enjoy sweeping vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Rift Valley.
The 3-day itinerary is perfect for those with limited time but who still want the adventure of summiting one of Africa’s most beautiful volcanoes. Accommodation is in comfortable mountain huts along the route, making the trek less demanding logistically.
